ISO Greenville SC take-out/delivery Chow options

I'm in northern Virginia and need to locate some take-out/delivery chow spots in Greenville SC (putting together a gift for a friend). Anyone have recommendations for chow spots that deliver or do take-out? Also, ideas for good places for sweets/desserts/bakery goods are most appreciated.

Thanks much!
Karen

Can you give me a little more of an idea what kind of food you are looking for? Also, is there a particular area of town that would be more convenient for you to pick-up from? I don't know anything about delivery, unfortunately.

I will say right off that G'ville doesn't have much in the way of dessert/bakery. There is a Whole Foods here, and it is an excellent option compared to the local restaurants, which are heavily chains.

You should definitely check out Strossner's Bakery.

      It's a cafe - bakery - florist.

I've had everything from sandwiches to soups to salads to chicken pot pie to coffee cake to cookies to pie. All good.

And they delivery locally - fees depend on how far/how much you order.

As far as chow food for delivery - like the above poster said - if you give us some cuisine types and part of the city, that would help.

ap65065, please don't take offense, but I can't resist adding a differing opinion on that.

I think Strossners has some of the worst baked goods I've ever had. IMO, they are resting on some very old laurels. I have never had any of their lunch items, so no opinion there.
