Cheesecake - Will it spoil during trip back home?

hsv Oct 18, 2006 12:47 PM

I'm planning a trip to NYC in a few weeks. I would really like to bring back a cheesecake (thinking Junior's), however, the trip back home is a 9 hour drive. Will the cheesecake be able to hold up for that long? I've seen the online shopping category on the website (unfortunately, they don't deliver in Canada). They ship their cakes in a "stay-fresh container". Are these available directly from the store? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi hsv. I think I'd put it in a cooler with a couple of ice packs on top of the cheesecake box. I doubt that it would spoil, per se, but why risk it?

i'd just call junior's and ask. maybe they have a frozen cheesecake and they can pack it with dry ice.

I'd put it in a cooler with ice packs. I've taken cheesecakes from DC to Maine with no problems. Enjoy! :)
