lupa and pepolino are two of my favorite italian restaurants. honmura an is a good place for japanese noodles. koreatown is great fun - here's an article from the new york times today with some selections:

red cat is also supposed to be great; i haven't been there yet.

i enjoy rosa mexicano near lincoln center for their pomegranate margaritas and good tex mex style food.

there are a zillion restaurants, to be sure - have fun deciding!

Here we go again... NYC has literally THOUSANDS of restaurants, pretty much all but 3 are cheaper than Per Se.

You want an "interesting place". How about sharing a little bit more criteria so that we can better assist you.
