Planning a leisurely drive next weekend through the Cascades Loop. I'd appreciate any suggestions for good places to stop in for lunch/dinner in Marblemount, Winthrop, Twist,
or other locations in that area.

In Winthrop there are several small restaurants in town, but the highlight for us is eating at Sun Mountain Lodge. In Twisp (not Twist) I wonder if the Fiddlehead is still open. There is also a good place for breakfast right on the main drag, but I can't remember the name. I think it might be the Cinnamon Twisp Bakery.

Fiddlehead was replaced a few months ago with a good woodburning pizza place from the same owner/chef. Still the best place in either downtown Twisp or downtown Winthrop.

Fairly equivalent to SML is Freestone Inn in Mazama.

I'd definitely second the Sun Mountain Lodge. Growing up my family used to visit Winthrop each winter and I have good memories of eating at this saloon in town called Three Fingered Jack's. Also, along the highway near Marblemount is Cascadia Farms, which is the same as the organic frozen fruit and vegetables brand you see in grocery store freezers. They have a little outpost that sells bakery and ice cream items worth stopping for.
