Best place near West Hollywood to get ITALIAN RED WINES?

Hi All,

I'm really big on Barolos, Morellino di Scansano (Tuscany), etc.

Where do you find your best deals on Italian reds?

Thanks!

Don't know if this is close enough for you, but Wine Expo in Santa Monica has a LOT of Italian wines. I usually go for prosecco, but my friend brought a barolo from them to dinner once and it was fantastic.

Yes, Robert Rogness at Wine Expo specializes in Italian wines and champagnes, and has great taste. Can't imagine you can't find what you want there.
I was going to mention it earlier, yet felt that west of the 405 might be too far away, yet it really is not if they have what you want.

You should check out Du Vin, just off San Vicente in West Hollywood. They specialize in European wines. Their website, posted below, has the address and more info.

Another vote for Du Vin. Rene and his staff really know their wines and are very helpful at any price range, too.

I have been buying wine there for about 20 years and have always been happy.

Another vote here for Du Vin. Well chosen selection of what you want.

The wine shop with the best selection in LA is Wally's.

They have a broad selection and some very rare stuff too. Some of the pricing on the rare stuff is high... some not. So, shop carefully. They have sales people with a lot of knowledge. A great store.

I picked a bottle of Italian red at the Whole Foods in West Hollywood called La Selva. It was about $13 and it was fantastic with my roast chicken. They had a few Tuscan bottles and they were all under $20.

I'm surprised no one has recommended the Wine House.

                www.winehouse.com

They have about 45 Baroli in stock. And plenty of Tuscan choices.
