chatto's latest [Moved from Ontario board]

Hey there,

Just finished reading James Chatto's article in the latest Toronto Life. The one where he went in disguise to a few classic T.O. restaurants, to gauge if he would get similar service. What did you guys think? I thought it was great, but just curious.

  1. I enjoyed reading the article, but thought that he and Chris Nuttall-Smith should have gone to a mix of restaurants, rather than a few of the finest haute cuisine establishments in the city. Restaurants of this calibre have trained their waitstaff to be courteous and attentive to all patrons, regardless of appearance or level of obnoxiousness.

I'd have loved to hear the discourse that ensued when these servers were out of sight and hearing range of their customers and could discuss amongst themselves the strange characters seated in the dining room.

Otherwise, it was a great idea of Mr. Nuttall-Smith's, and I found the piece to be quite entertaining and humourous.
