Anyone seen Wolferman's English muffins in any Oakland/Berkeley stores? I know that Bristol Farms in L.A. has sold them, and there's now a BF store in the new Westfield shopping center on Market Street in San Francisco... I'm hoping to avoid crossing the bridge for English muffins, though!

Loved these when I lived in St. Louis. If all else fails, you can order direct online.

Boy, "Wolferman's" rang a very old bell in my brain that said "Kansas City" and lo and behold I was right. I grew up in central Missouri and Wolferman's was sort of "it" for gourmet food.

Ah, Sara Lee would explain why I've seen them in some major market ... but, alas, I can't remember where. If I had to guess, it would be Andronico's around Christmas. I remember being surprised to see them. Someone gifted me with them one Christmas and I wasn't overly impressed, so I didn't buy them when I saw them. Lots of people love them though, just not my thing. It wasn't a recent sighting either.

Some of my fondest memories are of eating at The 11th and Walnut Location as a kid.

Superb food that probably set me on my chowhound path.
