Hi everyone! I'm revisiting Albuquerque from the east coast 8 years after UNM and I can't wait for some real chile! I had a friend who would bring me to a stand somewhere near the UNM stadium area that had the best tamales and stuffed sopapillas. I want to go back there, but do not know the name or location. I think it was take-out only, kind of in the middle of nowhere, almost like a catering kitchen or something. I have been dreaming about this place for years and desparately want to go back. Also, does anyone know a place in Socorro that has stacked enchiladas with the egg on top?

Thanks for any help!!!

I'm pretty sure you're referring to El Modelo. It's at 1715 2nd St. It can be a little tough to find because 2nd Street doesn't connect directly to Avenida Cesar Chavez. If you're trying to get there off of Cesar Chavez you'll have to use 3rd Street to get there.

    It's a fantastic place!

Thanks! I think that names sounds right. Though I found some pictures on the web that didn't look like it; it has been a while though....and I'm sure I won't go wrong by going there!
