PATE de MARRONS/CREME de MARRONS
help! i need pate de marrons but couldn't find it and ended up buying creme de marrons. WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE?
Does it have a list of ingredients?
According to my Larousse, pate de marron is a chestnut confection, containing pureed (or pounded) chestnuts mixed with a combination of sugar and apricot jam or apple jelly. There is no definition for "creme de marron."
Creme de marrons is chestnut puree. Usually it is sweetened. Check your recipe to see if the pate de marron is solid or a paste, then you can adjust accordingly.
