Looking for Lunch spots in Auburn. Cafes or Sandwich shops with soups and salads. Please No Subways or such. Any suggestions?

I'm surprised nobody mentioned Max's Deli over in North Auburn. Their sandwiches are really good if that's what your looking for. It's a bit off the beaten path for travelers though, as they are located in a business park area away from Old Town Auburn.

Ikedas! I live in Reno and have driven there these past 2 weekends in a row to buy pumpkins, produce, pies, pot pies, wine! Love the place. Oh, Katrinas is great too (for breakfast).

We've not eaten lunch there, but always enjoy whatever we have from the vast breakfast menu at Katrina's on 49 just north of 80. Between a shopping center and a car lot. Parking is dicey. Homey decor and a capable staff. Big Menu!

Can now vouch for Katrina's, recently had their Reuben and fries which was very tasty and could easily have fed two very hungy people.

I loved Katrina's and ate there frequently (mostly lunch) when I worked for Placer County! Huge portions!

Boy howdy, needed a nap afterward. My pal, that ordered breakfast, is a big eater and he couldn't finish it all. Ah, the sacrifices we all make!

Ikeda's had good hamburgers (and alot of other good things) until they branched out and became just another over-crowded, dirty, rushed, noisy joint, in my opinion.

I've heard breakfast and lunch at the restaurant at the airport (off Bell Road) are great, but I haven't made it there yet.

Awful Annies is great but is only open for breakfast and lunch. They stop seating at 3pm but they have a fantastic selection of sandwiches, salads, soups and breakfast items. If they are offering the french onion as the soup of the day-you have to get it. It is made with Bourbon and it serves to give it a really rich flavor.
