Late, informal, vegetarian friendly dinner in Montreal sought

We will be in Montreal tomorrow, have two nights with cultural events and will belooking tohave dinner after 10 or 11. Location is not important (we will be downtown) but informal and vegetarian friendly is. We are accustomed to eating off a larger, ominvore menu
and especially like Asian and Mid-Eastern.

Any suggestions??

  1. I'd suggest Chu Chai, 4088 RUE SAINT-DENIS - (514) 843-4194. Asian and vegetarian :) Food is quite good.

I second the motion! The duck curry is incredible... :)

    2. Note tha Chu Chai is entirely veg. While delicious, it might not be what you are looking for if you prefer an omnivorous menu with veggie options.

In that vein, other good choices would be:

Lemeac: bistro, known for its after 10 special table d'hote. Check the board for their web-site, which posts the menu online
Alep (& the more casual petit alep) offer great syrian food. Location is north of downtown (on Jean Talon).
Chao Praya on Laurier offers great thai, with plenty of veggie options.

As for really-not fancy middle-eastern - I still swear that the best tabouleh in the city is at Al-Taib (basement studenty place on Guy, near Concordia university).
