Subway: Did They Give Jared the Boot?

Some of the new sandwiches Subway is pushing appear to have about 9,000 calories each. These things are really gross looking. Hot meats with gloopy sauces do not go with lettuce, tomato, and other cold veggies.

When I do venture into a Subway these days I stick with the tried and true BMT. I used to like the tuna salad but recently saw some info on the fat content -- hmm, wonder why I liked the tuna salad?

    1. No, Jared's still in those commercials... the latest one has him talking about how gross the 54g of fat in a Whopper are.

I hate Subway so much that I need to denigrate it from the sidelines... just the smell in there makes me queasy.

I agree, but it isn't just Subway. I think it is something inherent in the ilk: there is a Togo's by my office and it has the same exact smell....

But Togo's is sort of edible. As compared to Subway.

That aside, I was wondering the same thing... since most of the new commercials seem to feature Jon Lovitz using an incomprehensible accent.

No, I can't eat Togo's either. I can deal with Quizno's sometimes... but frankly all three of them have put me off sandwiches.

Amen to that. They're all kinda revolting.

Wow...I stenuously disagree re Togo's. A step above Subway and Quizno's, imo.

Oh man, thanks for that. I thought it was just me who couldn't deal with the smell in there. We have one near my house, about 20 miles South of KC. My wife loves it, I can't get past the door.

        3. yeah, i know some of subway's recent sandwiches are pretty hardcore as far as fat content, overall size, caloric content, etc., but they still have the best tasting lowcal things around i think. this is not to say that theyre totally amazingly delicious or anything but that things like the turkey breast wrap are pretty decent tasting when loaded with the right veg, nice mustard and little oil and vinegar when considering that it has around 200 calories! pretty good. leaves a lot of room for leeway on other things doesnt it?

          1. I used to like the BMT loaded with veggies once in a while, but since they changed the recipe on the regular roll to a big sweet hotdog roll, I haven't been back.

            1. i stick with the chicken teriyaki or the subway club. always on wheat, 6-inch, lettuce/onion/pickles, hold the mayo and mustard.
