narrowing down the options for Quad Cities/Davenport this weekend
I will have far more options than time, so here's my tentative plan.
Having learned about the Machine Shed from Chowhound, I checked out the Web site, and the lengthy list of pork products almost inspired me to move to Iowa. This is a must-visit, the only question is how many times. I'm assuming that the tenderloin wrapped in bacon is one of the stronger items, but I welcome any input.
My other musts for the trip are Breitbach's Country Dining and Jim's Rib Haven. I am strongly inclined to check out Ross's for the Magic Mountain. I also plan to hit Schafer's in Fulton for smoked carp and any other obscure smoked fish I can find.
With fierce competition for the remaining meals, I am waffling on the Bluff Lake catfish place.
Also, there are two joints that have received minimal publicity. One was in a guidebook, one in a newspaper article, and I'd like to hear what the experts think. These are Julie's Cafe in Albany, Illinois, supposedly a good tenderloin spot, and Chart House in Muscatine.
I am planning to enjoy the architecture in Galena but probably won't stop for food.
Thanks in advance for the guidance.

Good calls for the QC places.
Machine Shed - Get the America's Cut and an appointment for liposuction.
Ross' - spend the extra $.50 to subsitute hash browns for fries on your Magic Mountain
Couple others I would suggest are all within a couple blocks of each other in the Village of East Davenport.
11st St. Bar & Grill - Unbreaded, grilled tenderloin & fries are not to be missed.
Lagomarciano's - very cool old time soda fountain & homemade candy
Bier Stube - Great German bar with good food.
