We had a lovely Christmas lunch several years back at Corte Sconta. They have a terrific seafood appetizer assortment which is delivered gradually, as I recall. One hardly needs to continue on after that, but they have several pasta specialties and fish. The crowd was virtually all italian and extremely convivial and relaxed. ps Midnight Mass in San Marco (the ceiling is illuminated so you can see it) and Christmas morning service in the little anglican church in dorsoduro are also very nice. Its a peaceful family day in Venice and a very nice one to walk around.

For additional local restaurant options, check the reliable local guide, Venezia Osterie by Michela Scibilia .

There's a posting about Locanda Cipriani on Torcello and this article was referenced. It's about spending Christmas in Venice and mentions several restaurants that may suit you.
