Corn Oil Pie Crust

Trying to avoid Crisco/ trans fats.

Anyone got a recipe for pie crust made with oil? Thanks

  1. There was a recent thread that had some oil-based crust recipes:

    My recipe is:
    2 c AP flour
    1 t salt
    1/3 c. milk
    2/3 c. oil

    Combine dry ingredients, make a well. Pour in liquid and mix to combine. Divide into two balls and roll out between two sheets of waxed paper.

      I've done the roll-out between waxed paper method with oil crust, but when feeling esp. lazy, you can simply pat it out into the pie pan using a jelly glass or tumbler. Doesn't look smooth like the rolled-out kind, but is quite flaky and tasty and has a certain rough-hewn appeal.
