atlanta food - rec's needed

I will be in Atlanta for work for 4 days - staying at the Glenn which is downtown. Would love some recommendations for food - restuarants, cafes, etc.. ideally close to where I'm staying but I will have a car and will happily drive if it's worth it!

  1. panos and pauls.. or any of the buckhead life group rests. good food and affordable

    1. There are lots of recent posts about exactly this. Do a search and you should find lots of recent info.
If you have a car and are slightly adventursome, you should have a fantastic dining experience.

      1. My friend just got a job at the Glenn. If you see a petite, brunette with a syrupy Southern drawl that's probably Angie.
I know she'd recommend (after the restaurant the Glenn of course) Agave in Cabbagetown. Great Southwestern food with tasty margaritas.
Also, Rathbuns or Krog bar. They're right next to each other.
Typically a great area to visit and wander around is Virginia Highlands. Highland Tap has the best martinis. Moe's & Joe's is one of the oldest bars and serves up cold PBR. Trattoria La Tavola for Italian. Fontaine's has oysters on the 1/2 shell, a decent bar and lots of fried goodness. The streetscape is being redone so I'm not sure the condition of the sidewalks. Don't let that keep you from going though.
