Went to Pho Hoa Lao based on the recs from this board. It was pretty good. Good Cafe Su Da. Didnt have the authentic condiments though. Cilantro instead of Gai, and no Satay. But pretty good so thanks.

Passed by a fish and chips place by Lake Merit called Yorkshire Fish 7 Chips. it was closed, but maybe because it was a Monday?

Anyway, is it any good.

Before someone says "its heavy and greasy", that means its good. Just like in England!

By the way.... I have a blog for OC recomendations if you are ever down there. I havent updated it in a while as I just recently went through a bad divorce that took my spirits down (doing a lot better now), but in case you want to see

I haven't been there in several years, but I remember liking it quite a bit and yes it was always "heavy & greasy" which is specifically why I liked it. Can't vouch for it as I haven't been there in at least 3 or 4 years, but it might be worth a try. I'm glad you mentioned it, because I just moved a couple blocks away (after breaking up with my boyfriend of 7 years---I feel your pain on that one). Report back if you try it.
