Would love recommendations for all price points for brunch / lunch / dinner - will be spending a week in Santa Fe in November. Number one priority is a good chef -- then ambience. Also - any great grocery stores/delis to pick up stuff for picnics? thanks.

For good cheap New Mexican eats in Sante Fe try Tomasita's on Guadalupe near the train station . It is clean and their blue corn enchiladas are excellent and the food is spicy but not like El Paso Texmex. $7 to $12.
Another very good place that does not get much press on chowhounds is the Zia Diner it is always crowded as there food is excellent but it is not N. Mexican rather comfort food with a N. Mexican flair. Great for lunch / dinner and recommend their Roast beef Sanwich and their Banana cream pie. Overall their food is great and their pies are homemade. $8 to $18.
Just to pick up something to take for a picnic/snack. I recommend Whole foods Deli , cerrillos rd., they are pricey but they are good. there is a TJ's and wild Oats in town also. Good luck beautiful this time of year, but it always is .

Another local favorite is Maria's. Amazing margarita menu and blue corn enchiladas. Can't imagine a trip to Santa Fe and not eating there.

I was just in Santa Fe for the first time last month and loved it. In addition to Tomasitas, I would recommend Harry's Roadhouse, which is about 10 minutes out of town. It's a mix of food styles and is a lot of fun. The hostess and waitstaff were hilarious and we got to meet the chef, who is the godfather of our waitress. Heed the warnings of the reviews and be sure to save room for dessert!
