Ode to Truffled Eggs

guttergourmet Oct 9, 2006 04:11 PM

Stopped in at 'Ino for truffled eggs Sunday morning. I know it's been said many many times before but they're better than sex. Since I couldn't get a bellini yet, I zipped up to City Bakery and chased them with some hot chocolate.

It's a damn good dish - still not sure about your analogy, but do love it!

      You're doing sex wrong.

That aside, tell me, are they serving that with white truffles... or truffle oil?
What are they charging for it?

$9, and I'm pretty sure it's truffle oil. I like it a lot, myself, but yeah, about the sex, what il Trifulau said.

The last time I had the Truffled Egg Toast (it was during the day), I rode my bike afterwards to Sullivan Street Bakery (Grand Daisy) and had this slice of Lemon Curd-like creamy tart - THAT was the best pairing ever. That lingering truffle oil taste and then that buttery custard creamy tart - THAT was like, well, you know...

Any other suggestions for other places for Truffled Egg Toast or just Truffled Eggs?
