Looking for suggestions for good places to eat in the St Germain area and surrounds. We have three nights starting this coming Thursday - planning this trip for 5 years so would like to avoid over-priced and over-rated establishments if possible. Any suggestions? Price range up to about €75 per head ballpark. All help would be welcome.

Go try "Chez Papa" a nice restaurant 3 rue st Benoit (in Saint germain des pres) very close to the Louis Vuitton shop. It's a Jazz restaurant. Used to be really nice.

Don't forget to tell me about it if you go.

Ze Kitchen Galerie right on the Seine is terrific and I love the bistro Les Charpentiers on rue, Mabillon. L'Atelier de Joel Robuchon is just on the outskirts of the St. Germaine area, in the 7th. I would also recommend the authentic experience of Le Pied de Fouet and of course Les Deux Magots and/or Cafe Le Flore for sitting and watching tous de Paris pass by while sipping your $8 coffee.
