Lebanese deli in Red Bank - Sushi bar in Atlantic Highlands
This is a plug for two new places I've tried recently and haven't seen written about yet.
Zaitooni, a Lebanese deli on Mechanic Street in Red Bank. There are only three little tables but the food is great- fatoosh salad, kibbe platter with hummus, tabouli, etc., honey soaked farina cake, stewed green beans and flat beans, meat, cheese and spinach pies- everything was fresh and the family running it, very nice.
Kyoto Sushi and Hibachi in the Navesink strip mall on route 36 - I was scared away at first by the fact that they have the hibachi in the title but decided to try it anyway and was really pleasantly surprised. It's very nicely remodeled - very clean- and the sushi was superb. I usually go to Sono in Middletown on route 35 but like this place better. I've been twice, great food and excellent service both times. I'm not sure that it's a destination restaurant but if you're in the area, it's a great place for sushi.

yup this place is authentic! the family is oh so very nice and warm!

I like both those places very much. If you search this board, you'll find a few discussion of both of them.

Kyoto is fantastic. After the NYTimes suggested going to to a sushi bar and letting the chef make whatever he wants, we became addicted and have been going every week. We never get the same things twice and it's been a lot of fun.
