Best breakfast spot in Oxford city center?

I'd love recs for your favorite spots in Oxford (esp. central) for breakfast. Better if they are inexpensive spots (i.e. under £12 or so, excluding drinks).

  1. Hey.....try Combibos Coffee in Gloucester Green Oxford (by the main bus station). We do awsome muffins and pastries and in a couple of weeks will be serving the best fried breakfast in Oxford, as well as yummy pancakes, waffles, etc!

Thanks for the heads up. I'll try it soon.

    2. The grandaddy of Oxford fry-ups is the Giler (the St Giles' Cafe, on St Giles Street). Eggs, bacon, beans, chips etc, where you can accompany your bargain breakfast with snippets of students recounting the previous night's drunken exploits.

I used to like Breakfast at Cafe Coco just over Magdalen Bridge, but this was several years ago!

The Grand Cafe on the High Street used to be nice for a posh breakfast experience - patisserie, good coffee and freshly squeezed OJ.

      1. I really like Findley's when I'm down Oxford way, the best grilled cheese I have ever had!

        1. Just thought I'd let you know Combibos Breakfasts are up and running......£5.50 for a full english (inc tea/coffee). Come down and check it out!
