Now that we're on the cusp of flu season, and what with the weather changing from day to day, hour to hour, I thought I'd throw this one out there, see what sticks:

Anyone know of a place that makes great chicken soup - I'm talking about the kind with lots of vegetables and a generous portion of bird, even a huge leg bone sticking out of the steaming hot bowl - in this naked city?

I had a pretty decent bowl of the stuff at Havana Chelsea a few times, but, when it comes to heavy duty chicken soup, I could use some more recommendations (any borough is fine).

although it's not chicken noodle style chicken soup i had a killer bowl of chicken soup at La Maguey y La Tuna- little Mexican place on Houston near Attorney Street. delicious. flavorful, slightly spicy broth with a huge chicken leg sticking out of it- seems like this soup could kick the crap out of a seasonal flu (or a can of Campbells).

fyi- they also have a spicy trip soup on their menu that they call "hangover cure soup" if you're feeling more adventurous (or have a slightly different ailment)

The Carnegie Deli makes an excellent version.

Veselka also makes it very well, but you have to do takeout, since it's one of the most unpleasant, crowded and noisy places on the planet.
