Korean Thanksgiving Festival in Annandale Oct 7-8

The KORUS festival is being presented by the Korean American Association of Washingington and the KORUS House of the Embassy of the Republic of Korea this weekend. Festivities are at 4251 John Marr Drive (K-mart plaza) in Annandale and include both cultural presentations and food booths. Admission is free; presumably the food is not.

Oct 7: 10 am to 11 pm
Oct 8: 10 am to 9 pm

  1. Went yesterday with the kids. Not much in the way of activities. We saw a tae kwon do demo and a spanish band. Demo was ok the band was good. Cold and rainy. Not much else too look at or for kids to do. Very dissapointing in this area. Last year was much better.

The food was pretty good. Ho Duk (korean pancake with honey inside) was excellent. Duk Boe Kee (rice cake in hot and sweet sauce) was good. Kim Bab was cold and dry and bad. Bad choice on my part. Odang (fish cakes on skewer) was ok. The soup that it comes with was excellent on a cold day. The odang itself was poor in quality. Soondae, korean blood suasage was excellent. I highly recommend it. Spicy sweet pork platter was really really good. The best food I had was either the sausage or the pork.
