On a whim, I bought a 2.5 kg sack of 70% cocoa couverture pieces from the Lindt "factory outlet" store in Mississauga, Ontario (for $29.99 Cdn, which seemed like a good deal at the time). The chocolate expires 30/04/2007 and I already fear I won't be able to get through all of it in time! I am a beginner cook/baker. I don't have a well-stocked kitchen, but I do have 3 springform pans, the typical baking pan set (muffin, cookie sheets, small round pans and large rectangular pan that looks like it would be good for brownies), and a never-used Pampered Chef "flower" bread tube. I like eating cupcakes, squares, and bark but am open to unusual ideas, too. I've never made chocolates or truffles at home and wouldn't even know where to start. Please suggest easy recipes that don't take more than one hour or so to prep. I don't necessarily want to have a fondue party! Also, if I bake too much, I would have to start giving away food. There's only so much my family of 4 chocolate-lovers can eat at Christmas and normally I'm baking for one. I'm also open to savoury recipes, such as mole or a great sauce for meat. Thanks!
