Anyone been to Pinole Creek Cafe recently?
The Contra Costa Times did a review this week. Supposedly they dumped the Continental menu that so turned me off on my visit a year ago.
I have to say that I was so underwhelmed on my visit, I'd have to see some positive things to give it another try ... but it would be nice if it has improved. It is a pretty restaurant.

Sounds good though...
"The Dungeness Crab Cakes ($13), with meat picked from crabs Kim buys live in Chinatown, are a prime example. Lightly coated with panko and pan-fried, the plump patties have no bready extenders. The sweet meat is loosely bound with sauteed aromatic vegetables, basil and a pinch of cayenne."
But again the food would have to justify the prices.
