Hi - I've got to sort out a venue for a dinner tonight - It will be one year since I've met my GF, and I'm looking for something either in the Yorkville/Bay/Bloor area or at yonge/sheppard/finch corridor for a dinner celebration...I love steaks, but she's more into lighter fare like rack of lamb - also looking for a cozy environment to boot.

any thoughts?

There's a discussion of Toronto steakhouses that might help going on here: http://www.chowhound.com/topics/show/...

In the Bay/Bloor-ish area, I've been to Boba (on Avenue Road). Nice, romantic vibe, good food. Not cheap, though (you didn't mention budget); or Town Grill on Carlton at Parliament - not really the area you specified but cosy, unfussy and great food.

Hope you both have a great evening!

Not exactly in the area you requested BUT it's in the Yonge/Eglinton area...."Alize" at 2459 Yonge St. Sooooo cozy, and friendly with amazing food! ( A mix of French and Italian food ) The "Coq an Vin" is amazing! Reservations are recommended-they could barely fit us in the last time we were there! ( 416 ) 487-2771.

It's about $120.00 with wine before tip for two.
