Breakfast Around 800 Valencia???

oakjoan Oct 5, 2006 05:21 PM

My breakfast friend and I are branching out. We have been b'fsting for at least 10 years and always went to Campton Place in SF and Mama's in Oakland. Then we grew bored with CP and started going to Canteen.

Now we're traveling far afield to other parts of SF. Can meals in Bakerfield be next? Any suggestions near to 800 Valencia?

On the weekend, you can try the Phoenix - Boxty, Irish soda bread eggs benedict, fresh juice, etc.

I'm actually talking about ONLY weekdays.

It looks as if Maverick, at least, only serves breakfast/brunch on weekends.

Have you tried Zazie in Cole Valley? They serve breakfast every day I believe.

Puerto Allegre - 546 Valencia - has wonderful Verde Chilaquiles. I don't actually recommend them for dinner but their brunch is quite nice.

Ramblas - 557 Valencia - also has a good brunch menu with a Spanish twist; sure there's eggs & potatoes, but as a torta. Also their bartendar makes good breakfast cocktails.

Maverick - 3316 17th - a little off the beaten path but worth it. Good migas.

I like Maverick too, for brunch. They've delicious cornmeal/buttermilk pancakes.

Bugaloos (sp?) on the corner of 22nd and Valencia.

The Pork Store on 16th and Valencia.

Luna Park on Valencia and 18th does brunch, but not sure about weekdays.
