If I remember correctly, Bagel Buffet has the big monster bagels in the Ess-a-Bagel ballpark--good, but not a classic NY Bagel.

The place right near Father Demo Square is incredibly bad (I think they're stil there).

Re the place near Father Demo Square: their pumpernickle bagles with sesame seeds, topped with bacon horseradish cream cheese is serious comfort food for me. They have a lot of varieties of cream cheese too.

I love Bagel Buffet on 6th b/t 8th & 9th sts. It's a serious hole in the wall, but the bagels are fantastic.

Hudson Bagels on Hudson, between Christopher-10th. I think they're excellent and by far the best bagels I've had in the area.

I agree that Bagels on Hudson are the best in the neighborhood. In addition to the standard offerings, they have true whole wheat bagels, which I love when I'm not in a traditional mood. He also has homemade soup that's really good.

Definitely Hudson. There's a line out the door every morning.

Murray's is solid and the service is great. I second this one.
