Girly Birthday Dinner - Italian Food & Upbeat Atmosphere

A group of girls is looking for a lively restaurant for a birthday dinner - Italian food preferred by the birthday girl....happy to spend 60-75.00 per person (most are not big drinkers)..downtown or uptown location preferred...can anyone help with suggestions??

Five Doors North is great, as is Gio Rana's Really Really Nice Restaurant at Queen and Leslie. You'll know you're there when you see the really really big nose...

For Italian, my girlfriends & I always like Five Doors North for a casual atmosphere girls' night out or La Vecchia for high end dining in a pretty room. Both are on Yonge, Five Doors being walking distance south of Eglinton and La V being walking distance north of Eglinton.

I second five doors north.

I also reccommend Grano which is across the street from it.

If you want more of a "social" atmosphere, try Grazie (although I usually avoid this place due to all the people).

Sapori on Yonge st, North of Lawrence makes wonderful italian food and GREAT bread.
