I just want to say if you want good cheap Mexican food, go to the cart -I think it might be called Calexico- on the corner of Wooster St. and Prince St. (in front of the Camper shoe store). I had the chicken soft tacos and grilled corn and both were FRESH and very flavorful. Go there- expecially if you are feeling nostalgic or craving California style tacos.

Definitely some of the best CalMex in NYC. And to be honest, it's better that most of what you get on the Left Coast. Super fresh and flavorful - one of the best under $10 meals in town, IMHO. Who knew white boys could do Mexican so well?

Thanks to food bloggers I finally found out about Calexico Cart on the NE corner of Wooster and Prince.

Went today @ 1:15PM and it was about a 15-20 minute wait.

I ordered 2 pork soft tacos @ $3.00/each. I'm not kidding when I tell you that these were 4 star tacos - pulled pork with chipotle sauce, pickled onions and a nicely spiced tomatillo sauce. Heavenly.

The cart is run by the Vendley brothers (Jesse, Brian and David) and I think they've only been in business for aroud 6 months. They are truly dishing up authentic Cal/Mexican food.

These guys are finalists in the 2006 Vendy Awards - if they win this corner of Soho will be more mobbed than ever!
