Not looking for anything fancy or chowie. Something Keg-like would be just fine. Not really familiar with this area. Dave and Buster's maybe? I can't believe I just asked that!
Though I can't advocate eating at any of them, there are a bunch of restaurants in front of the AMC up there.
There are a couple of complexes around the movie theaters up there that are basically chain heaven. You can find pretty much everything from East Side Marios to Baton Rouge and back in terms of chains in the immediate area.
The food at Dave & Buster's is pricy and boring, but not terrible. It's really more about the other fun stuff to do, though.
There's a faux British pub in the complex with the AMC theater that I vaguely recall as having edible (not great, not chowy, but edible) food.
Thanks. Baton Rouge is a possibility. I think I'd prefer that to Houston's at Vaughan Mills. Keep them coming.
I know of and have only eaten at one place up there that is not a chain. Don't let the name throw you, it has excellent food and atmosphere. If you call ahead, they also own the place next door, which is called "the place next door" and it is more of a lounge type concept and depending on the size of your party you may be able to book that place. The restaurant is The ice cream patio, it's just south of hwy 7 off Weston at the first lights - the address is 149 Rowntree Dairy Rd, they do have a website, i've seen it before, but cannont find the webpage right now. Check it out
