Just finished my occasional indulgence, a pig foot dinner from Yvonne's Southern Cuisine. I usually get takeout, because it's a messy dinner, what with spitting out all those little bones. I get collards and black eyed peas for the sides, and it never fails to satisfy my craving. It's about all I ever order, but I have had the fried chicken, which is ok. Cornbread is too sweet. But that's ok. I can make my own cornbread. As soon as it's colder, I'll being cooking the pigs feet too. But they do a really good job, for sure.

The best way to find out is to go on Thursday evening, when they have a buffet. This is a nice looking restaurant inside, and it seems that folks come from all around, especially on Thursdays! I took a friend to the buffet a month or so ago; I'd never been. I think the buffet officially opens for serving at 6 p.m. Get there early before things start to wilt. I know people who love the fried chicken, but I know good fried chicken, so I'm not overwhelmed by it. The thing to do is grab a takeout menu, and give it a going over, to see if there's enough on offer that you'd like to try. As I said, I can sure vouch for the pigs feet!
