Any suggestions for good Italian restaurants close to MSG? A nice date place would be great. Thanks!

A Voce is fine, but close to Madison Square *Garden*? I think you're confusing it with Madison Square *Park*.

Biricchino is quite close to the Garden, on 29th, just east of 8th Av. I've never been, but there have been occasional posts by Hounds indicating that the food's good. They're known for their sausages, which are made around the corner at Salumeria Biellese -- same owners.

Second Biricchino. Would also suggest Tre Dici on 26th btw 6th and 7th.

Not super close to MSG, but DaCiro, Lexington between
33 and 34th. Upstairs is quieter than downstairs, and
better for talking to your date. Really good pasta, all
homemade, wood burning oven, a lot of choices.

I used to go to Biricchino when I worked at Penn Plaza. The food's pretty good and the staff are very nice. It's a cozy, homey place, and prices are reasonable.

I go to Biricchino often for lunch because it is not only the best Italian in this neck of the woods, it's one of the best restaurants for the money. You won't be disappointed. The sausages are great, but they also have a nice, light flattened chicken over arugula that doesn't overwhelm like some heavier Italian food.

Biricchino has been excellent choice for inexpensive quality food for years. Always nice service. Just tough for dinner on Thurs-Sat nights.
We've been twice in the last week while working at MSG. The other night I had penne with sausage and broc rabe. Tonite an excellent pork chop with fresh sauteed mushrooms. Lentil soup, arugula salad. Delicious light cheesecake of ricotta and marcapone. 20 of us went over the 2 days. Hard to beat in the area.
