recommendations for event for 50-60 people at max of $50 pp

i will be getting married next summer and my fiance and i are looking for a nice good restaurant that could hold about 50-60 people and would be around $50 per person. does anyone have any suggestions? we've called campbell's apartment (too expensive) and otto (not big enough). anything other good suggestions?

Try Moran's in Chelsea. I'm suer they can put something together for you for $50 tax and tip included

A friend of mine just got married on Labor Day weekend and she was able to hold her rehersal dinner party at Les Halles in the Financial District (John St. bet B'way and Nassau) for $40/person that included wine and beer AND food for 40 people. Quite a steal and worth an inquiry.

How about Osteria del Sole in the West Village? I attended a wedding rehearsal dinner there, they took over most of the dining room. It was delicious, Family style and not crazy expensive.

is trio on 33rd street? if so i've been there and it's ok but probably not what we are looking for (plus i can see it from my apartment window). we tried calling gascogne but it was a little pricey. we're looking for smoething fun (shake shack, dinosaur bbq) because the wedding is a tad formal.

If you're considering barbecue, how about Blue Smoke? Acc. to their website, the Jazz Club downstairs is available for private parties and can accommodate up to 100 people. The only hitch, besides the question of costs, is that it can't be on a Friday or Saturday night.

Since you were interested in Gascogne, check out Gavroche, located on 14th St., b/t 8th & 9th Avs., which also has very good French bistro cuisine. For private functions, they can accommodate up to 60 inside and 65 in the lovely garden.
