drinks & dinner near Symphony Hall

Ideally we would like to park once, have pre-show drinks, walk to the show and then walk to dinner afterwards (or driving to some place afterwards would be ok too). Any favorites come to mind for a Sunday night?

Thank in advance

If it's a nice night the walk to Tratoria Toscana would be refreshing and the meal would be worth it. Try to find parking on Westland which is about half way between Symphony and the Tratoria Toscana on Jersey st.

      I'd get a couple dawgs at Spike's

That area really is a wasteland foodwise. The nearest reasonable place is Brasserie Jo but there are some other options to consider.

Columbus Cafe on Columbus Ave. has decent food at more affordable prices.

Several restaurants near the corner of Mass. Ave. and Newbury St. are close enough to walk. That area includes Clio, Sonsie, Island Hopper, etc.

And if you are willing to walk further, you should consider Trattoria Toscana in the Fenway.

I second Brasserie Jo. Good drinks and pretty good food. My wife really likes the blue cheese burger. Best bet close by. Enjoy!

If the fact that they play their stereo way too loud doesn't bother you, Bukowski's is right by. It might not be the atmosphere you are looking for, but it is a great place to go if you don't mind screaming so that the person next to you can hear what you are saying.

Petit Robert Bistro at 480 Columbus is fairly nearby: http://www.petitrobertbistro.com/

Bangkok City on Mass. Ave. has VERY good Thai food, especially if you request the Thai menu.

Ugh...it's a wasteland in the immediate vicinity. I think the only full service restaurant right nearby is execrable Uno, which might be fine for a drink but not a good meal.

It's not too long a walk to the Legal in the Prudential Center for dinner afterwards.

Brasserie Jo is your best bet, they've got a great bar and usually pretty good French food. Three blocks away.
