Lunchtime Sports Bar, 3rd and Market

  • 8

My Dodgers have a 1pm playoff game Wed afternoon, looking for someplace close to watch and grab a reasonably priced late lunch and a pint or two. Off the top of my head, I can think of 4th Street Bar and Grill by the Metreon, and I remember a few tvs in the bar at Annabelle's. Don't really know too much more about the bar scene in the area. Any recommendations? Thanks!

  1. There's a sports bar called Dave's at 3rd and Jessie(?) between Market and Mission St. Don't know anything about the food, and I'd advise you to keep a low profile; it's a Giants fan hangout.

    1. I would go to 4th St Bar and Grill if you're at 3rd and Market. Or Jillians, but the food isnt very good there.

      1. Sorry, but have to say it: you'll have plenty of time for chow after the Dodgers go 0-3 in the first round, so food isn't the issue. Jillian's should work.

        1. I should have thought twice before posting I'm a Dodgers fan, haha.

"There's this great hidden sports bar down this dark alley . . ."

Just playing. I was gonna say try Arsenic, that new SOMA hot spot with killer drinks. Pick your poison. GO NL WEST !!!!!!

          2. Valiant comeback try tonight. Where did you watch?? How was the chow?? Despite some razzing, this West Coast chowhound is behind you (although must admit I'd take the Padres over the Dodgers). Great game! Luving the A's by the way and I'm a Giant fan the last 2 decades or so.

Just ended up at Jillian's. Had a cobb salad and pint of Sierra Nevada. The cobb was fine - didn't blow me away, but was pretty good. Wasn't quite filling enough, and swung by Beard Papa's afterwords - tried to drown my sorrows in a chocolate cream puff, haha.

Game 2 tomorrow, hope that works out better! Have a friend who lives near Harry's Bar (Fillmore and Pine or so), so may check that out, unless I can come across a more compelling option.

Rooting for you now. Wonder if a rainout is in the cards.
