Any new restaurants to check out on Oahu?

I did research for a trip my folks took last year. Just wondering if anythings changed in a year and a half. i.e. new noteworthy restaurants, formerly bad restaurant is worth checking out now, or maybe a good one isn't so good anymore.

Will be staying by the Honolulu Zoo. But they're okay with any recommendations on the Island. Looking for any kind of food except thai and sushi.

Thanks for the help.

Nico's at Pier 38 is a great spot featuring super fresh fish as well as local favorites done with a gourmet twist. The owner is a young Frenchman with a fine dining background and everything is very good and very inexpensive.

I also like Shokudo Japanese for interesting dishes which combine American/Japanese and sometimes Korean cuisine into usually tasty food. The prices are good here for family style dining.

Du Vin, a new brasserie/wine bar on the edge of Chinatown should be serving food by the time they visit. The chef is ethnic Vietnamese but from New Orleans and trained in Europe. I'm looking forward to the food.

There's more but I'll have to come back later or let some one else pick up the torch as I've got to run right now!

Thanks. I think they may like Nico's.

What sort of "healthy plate lunches"? The fish sounds good, how do they prepare
it? Do you work there? It's your favorite subject to post!
