Had a reservation at Good Fork over Labor Day only to learn the hard way that they were closed for the holiday. The owner called us, apologized profusely and encouraged us to give them a try. We finally made it last night and were really touched by their generosity. Started off with complimentary champagne for the four of us. As we were ordering our dessert, the owner came by and let us know that it was on the house. Upon recieving the bill we noticed that not only were the desserts and coffees free, but the apps were comped as well. We paid for the entrees and wine only. Definitely did not expect, nor were we looking for such generosity, but it sure says something about the owners. A classy move.
BTW, the meal was pretty good as well. The crabcakes, dumplings and 'steak and eggs' were the standouts. Will be back.
