Greetings all - anyone been to Devon Seafood Grill in Chicago? Looks good, but can't find any actual reviews.

I've been there 4 or 5 times (lunch only) and it has been quite good. I'd choose a good corporate restaurant over a bad independent or mini-chain place any day. So what if Houlihan's owns it? It certainly doesn't feel like a chain place and the food and decor bear no resemblance to Houlihan's (from what I can remember...haven't been to one in 10 years or so).

It's good enough that I will pay for cab fare to eat lunch there, when I can walk to the similar-in-concept Fulton's or the new McCormick & Schmick's (both of which have gone downhill so markedly and swiftly that I'll not return). For bread, Devon serves piping-hot biscuits right off of the baking sheet and they're excellent. We've had really excellent service on every visit, too.

Caveat: I haven't been there for dinner. Sometimes places are great during one service and not so hot for the other. Anyone been there for dinner?

      That definitely curbs MY enthusiasm...

I have been there for lunch and really enjoyed it. The food was fresh, prices weren't too high and we had really wonderful service. It was just one lunch visit, but I will be back based on that.

The place is owned by Houlihans. Nuff said.
