Good places to eat in/around Wilkes-Barre, PA

I used to live in Wilkes-Barre and haven't been back for awhile. Does anyone has any restaurant suggestions? We will be there all weekend for Wilkes homecoming--- any suggestions welcome.

Tony's is a Carribean restaurant that recently moved across from the new cinema on Northampton St. I haven't been in a while, but it was quite good at the old location.

Unfortunately there are lots of industrial (applebees, Chills etc) restaurants here.

But there are some good local places. Just a couple block walk from Wilkes there is a real Mexican restaurant on S. Main St called Pancho Villa. I just discovered a small restaurant called Pete's Place on South St (east of Main and before the bridge). It has the usual breakfast special signs in the window but has great Middle Eastern food for lunch and early dinner.

For good Indian there is Amber on Birney Ave in Moosic (just across the street from the Birney Plaza shopping center.
