ISO Sichuan Cuisine Chinese Restaurant in OC

  • 4

Hey all,

Just realized how long it's been since I've had Sichuan cuisine. Looking for some recommendations in Orange County. We're located in Irvine, but I don't mind a reasonable drive.

Rowlands Heights and SGV are not reasonable for weeknights! =b

  1. Well, Tri Village in Irvine is a "Northern" rather than specifically Sichuan restaurant, but they do have some Sichuan items. Ate there once and thought it was pretty good, and my Taiwanese food informant goes there all the time.

    1. Although it's not a Sichuan restuarant, the couple Sichuan dishes they make at Nice Food Restaurant can stand up impressively next to any I've ever had at a dedicated Sichuan place in the SGV.

Get Ma Po Dofu and have the Chow Ma Noodle soup, but be sure to request that they use the hand-made fat noodles for it (they're like rough udon). Both of these things are on the menu board up on the wall, and made to order (not from the vast steam tray of selections you see when you walk in).

Oh, and you might as well have a Leek Cake or two, if they have any. Best I've ever encountered.

Nice Food Restaurant, 627 N Euclid St., Anaheim, in the shopping center with 99 Ranch Market. It's between a Thai place and an H & R Block office if memory serves.

Sounds like a drive I'm willing to make. Thanks much!
