Just thought it would be fun to here if anyone has had the best of something in SD. I'm sure there are a ton - not everything to eat is better in LA.

          Yes, the best uni I've ever had was in San Diego - and probably also in Pacific Beach, as was mentioned above. I have had uni from fresh cracked urchin but I remember this time in SD. Really good.

            -Carnitas outside of Mexico/Super Cocina

            -Panna Cotta/Region when it had it's opening pastry chef (who is now back at Nine-Ten)

            - Pumpkin waffle/Cafe 222

            - Grilled Swordfish/Oceanaire Seafood Room

              Tempura - Restaurant Yae (R.I.P.)

              Udon, teuchi (handmade) - Yumeya (probably the only one in S.D., but it's also better than what I've had in other U.S. cities...)
