Atlanta: Korean Deep Fried Rotisserie Chicken and Beer???

There was a great article in the NYTimes about a "hof"---korean restaurant that specializes in deep fried rotisserie chicken that is also a beer hall. It is called Baden Baden and besides the location in NYC's Koreatown, there is also a location in Atlanta off Buford Hwy. I am dying to go there, but have informed my brother who lives in Atlanta that he must go there.

  1. A Korean restaurant specializing in fried chicken and beer named Baden Baden?!?! Does that mean Koreans are Teutonic rednecks?

Sounds like my kind of place. I'll try to check it out this weekend.

I've driven past it dozens of times, and I thought, that is a spa town in germany, in a korean shopping center? I've seen weird sh*t on Buford highway, but I never thought to stop in. I reckon I will now.

    2. You definitely should go and report back your findings. I've been trying to get my brother Jbug (yes, that really is my brother!) to go but he hasn't yet made it there. I'm so curious about it, partially because I'm korean and grew up in the south. My love for fried chicken in all forms knows no boundaries and to pair it with kimchee is a dream come true! For my brother, fried chicken, beer, and kimchee is a divine trinity. :)

BTW, where is it located in Atlanta????

I remember reading these AtlantaCuisine posts a few months ago and thinking that I will stick with So Kong Dong.

      2. I drove by yesterday (1/7/07) and it appears to be closed. Construction rubble everywhere in the parking lot and no lights.

I tried to go there over Thanksgiving w/my brother JBug and they open at night (5pm or later, I think) until something like 5am. Maybe they were just resting?????

        2. Definitely not - Drove by yesterday too (1/13) and the building is gutted. I could see straight through to the back and there's rubble and backhoes.
