Weird question? Is there anywhere in NYC that makes a burger like camelia grill?

I already asked this question on the Manhattan board and nobody had any answers so I thought I would try you guys. Also what kind of mayo do they put on the burgers?

  1. Alex, I grew up in New Orleans, and now live in New York. The only one I can think of that comes close to the style of burger is a burger from Paul's on 2nd Ave just below St. Mark's Place. The burger is greasy and loosely compacted, like the Camellia Grill burger, though Paul's gives you more meat and the lettuce is a crisp chunk of iceberg lettuce like many New York restaurants, instead of the wilted lettuce that Camellia gives you that's almost an afterthought and certainly doesn't affect the burger's taste that much.

By far the best burger in NYC is from Corner Bistro in the West Village.

    1. Have you ever tried Joe Allen's on restaurant row near the theater district. He has built an empire delivering great burgers.
