craft or buddakan for b-day celebration

i know that craft and buddakan are completely different, but i am looking for opinions of fellow chowhounds out there in terms of which restaurant you would recommend for a b-day celebration of 8-12 friends. i've been to craft and LOVE, never been to buddakan. thanks!

Having been to both, and preferring the food at Craft, I'd still vote for Buddakan. They're both good choices b/c they're both family-style (to an extent), but I think that Buddakan is more festive (read: loud) and they can accomodate a large group more easily.

so totally different. Only been to Buddakkan in Philly, thought the food was great Asian. Craft is one of my favorite restaurants in NY! If you're any more than 8 go to Budakkan, otherwise I'd choose Craft.

is there a particular reason that you suggested if we are more than 8 go to buddakan? i know that for craft, any reservations over 8 people, i'd have to speak with a manager for "special" accomodations, whatever that is....

Went to Buddakkan last Friday and loved it....the food was great and pretty reasonably priced and the place is really interesting (huge compared to the one in Philly).
