Big Breakfast or brunch weekday in Manhattan

Eating4three Sep 28, 2006 01:13 AM

Arriving on a red eye and eating an early dinner on a thursday. I am looking for a breakfast/brunch place were we can get a great meal and pass some time. I am thinking in Chelsea, Soho, East Village or Lower East Side. Looking for a hip place with people watching and great NYC vibe - but obviously food is top priority. Going to Balthazar for dinner or else we would try that - but bakery/eggs sounds great.

Consider Cafe Mogador on St. Marks Place between 1st and A. Very good breakfast or brunch any day, and weekdays are much more sedate there.

In NoHo, I've always enjoyed NoHo Star for breakfast...on Lafayette and Bleecker. Good food and service, nice quiet place where you won't be rushed.
