has anyone ever used Afghan Women's Catering?

I don't think that I am imagining things but I believe that there is an organization called the Afghan Women's Catering (or Collective) that provides catering?

Can anyone help me out with either a contact or a website?

Thank you very much.

  1. They are lovely people making lovely food. We've used them a handful of times (more in their early days) for company lunches + it's always wonderful.

they had catered a 200 person wedding on Dec 28, 2011. Awesome food, great service.
I could not stop eating the yummy food.
      great choice!

    2. have used them for work catering in the past, as well as eaten their food at events.

good food! i also like that it has community economic development roots.

one of my coworker's sister also runs an afghani food catering business and i find her food to be better though (also confirmed tasty by one of our afghani volunteers). don't have the name or contact info handy though...

Could you provide the name and contact for your coworker's sister's afghani food catering business? And do you know if they cater in Mississauga?

i will check when at work. i believe she will deliver anywhere for a fee (usually $20-ish, i think). it was $10 per person for a meal + delivery charge. i have ordered through her business for anywhere between 10 (full meal) to 100 (just appetizers) people so far. there are fewer menu options but the food is delicious! keep in mind it is just one so her availability might not always be as good as with afghan women's catering who have several people involved.

the place is called zarin catering.

you can probably get them to email you their catering menu

        2. another reason why Chowhound is such an amazing resource. I've never heard of Afghan Women's Catering and would love to give it a try. Thanks everyone for the comments.

          1. Wow, they have a great menu and very reasonable prices. I'll have to try them for office functions.

The difference between Afghan Womens Catering and others are that this is a grassroots project that benefits the community and not a business. simply love them.
wonder if they cater for small groups too??

                How small are you thinking?

They have catered for functions I've been to where there were around 15 people. There is a $150 minimum fee. Here is the website : , the other website you may find is for a group in Montreal.

                  Hello Foody,
Tried calling the other place on Monday, Zarin catering Helen had suggested. First I could not get someone that spoke English well enough to answer my questions. Then the guy says "No website"..... I asked for the menu to be faxed, and waited a for few answer. Finally I got a hold of Afghan Women's Catering. My work function was yesterday for 30 ppl for lunch. You got to try their Kabuli rice and chicken... it was amazing and I found out that their delivery drivers are volunteers (get paid for mileage only)... still that community based thing, which is really good.
                  Anyways, thanks for the help.
