Golfers' breakfast between Cheshire and Old Saybrook

We'll be meeting near Blackie's and driving to Mashantucket across I-691 to Middletown and down Rte. 9. Any suggestions for a good breakfast stop along the way?

The Whistlestop Cafe in Deep River has a great breakfast- homemade hashes and preserves, different types of benedicts, nice housemade pastries, etc. It's very small, so if you go on a weekend w/ a party of six you may have to wait a bit.

also-- Pat's County Kitchen in Old Saybrook. Kitsch GALORE but great hash and omelets. The Sterns useually do a review. I love the clam hash, but DH thinks Im mad.

You could do Paul's on Rt10 in Cheshire.
From Blackies, take a left onto Marion, Right onto Jarvis. Follow Jarvis out to Rt10, take a left Rt10N..and Pauls will be on the left (next to a car wash). Then continue up Rt10N and jump on 691.

I would recommend Mama Rouxs as well - although its a slight bit out of the way.

Hmm-- saturday or sunday? Really early or normal? The griswold Inn in Essex does a hunt breakfast but just Sunday's.

Mama Roux's in Cromwell. I know you're headed north instead of south. BUT there is mo finer breakfast in the state.
