Let's have YOUR Fried Green Tomato Recipe
The bacon drippings have got to be present, a heavy iron skillet, 1/2" thick FIRM green tomato slices, a favorite hot sauce (mine is Cholula), as for flour, what's up? Corn flour? Bread crumbs? Corn meal? Egg wash? Bisquick? Enlighten me!
I recently ate lunch at Poogan's Porch in Charleston SC. They featured a fried green tomato BLT with chevre. It was great and I've been meaning to re-create it at home. I also make a delicious green tomato and raspberry cobbler (not fried tomatoes, obviously, but a great dish!). I'm happy to post the recipe if anyone wants it.
